The Wilshaw family have farmed the area since the 1940s. In the 1960s the farm passed to the next generation, sons Walter and Robert in the 1960s, and the product line grew to include more varieties of raw nuts and dried fruit with the motto, "Nuts From All Over the World Meet Here." The walnut trees suffered during a very wet winter in the 1970s and had to be cut down, leaving the Bates to start over.
